A cooler breeze blows today with scrappy clouds. The sun should be more visible Thursday and Friday. The next storm arrives later today with rain in the metro, an icy mix for central Minnesota, and 4-8" snow over the northern third of Minnesota by Wednesday. Yesterdays drenching rain ends as a slushy coating this morning; icier west of MSP. A couple of chilly days give way to a weekend thaw, before teens and 20s return next week, setting the stage for an end to our snowy drought? Yep.

Treat your valentine to an umbrella today with periods of rain, as a storm tracks from the Texas Panhandle into the MSP metro tonight. A storm tracking from Denver to Chicago pushes snow into town tonight. Heaviest snow falls over southeastern Minnesota & Wisconsin, but models still suggest plowable amounts - possibly something in the 3-8" range from St. Cloud to Winona.
