Enjoy a taste of early June (without the humidity or bugs) because we cool off late in the week. A few showers and T-storms are possible late Friday, with rain lingering into Saturday.

Snow is melting fast, allowing more of the suns energy to go into heating up the air. Theres a good chance of 80 degrees later today and Wednesday. No rain is expected until late Friday and Saturday, tapping the brakes on melting snow and run-off, but the snow north/east of MSP contains near-record amounts of water. The approach of unseasonable warmth sets off a smear of clouds and a few afternoon rain showers today with highs near 60F in the metro area. Dry weather lingers into Friday with a taste of June: consistent 70s, even an outside shot at 80F by Wednesday. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

A light rain-snow mix is possible early today as temperatures push into the 40s by afternoon. A quiet Monday gives way to an icy mix changing to rain Tuesday (with more T-storms). Another outbreak of tornadoes is expected over Iowa and Illinois, with an ice storm for Duluth. I see mostly rain for the Twin Cities, ending as windswept snow on Wednesday. Another cool slap courtesy of Canada drops highs into the 30s by midweek but 40s return later in the week as our slow-motion meltdown continues. Models hint at a little slush Friday night.
