A 27-year-old man is in custody at the Kandiyohi County Jail after leading officers on a brief vehicle chase and fleeing on foot Friday morning.

A head-on collision on a southern Alberta highway has left two people dead, according to the RCMP.

Department of Transportation marks end of 2023 construction season, celebrates statewide improvements

The Highway 23 Gap projects and the U.S. Highway 212 reconstruction in western Renville County are among the major road construction projects in 2023, according to the Department of Transportation.

In spring 2024, crews will return to construct eastbound Highway 23 and westbound Highway 10, which includes adjacent roads, bridges, accesses, frontage road connections and sidewalks/trails.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will start opening roads on the Highway 10/Highway 23 road construction project.

A 61-year-old Edmonton man is dead following a head-on highway crash south of the town of Vulcan Tuesday night.

According to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the ramps connecting Kandiyohi County Road 5 and Highway 23 on the southwest edge of Willmar will be complete by the end of Friday, Oct. 6.

A temporary detour will be in place to accommodate the Highway 23 South gap project from Sept. 25 to Oct. 6, pending weather conditions.

Two of three ramps connecting Minnesota Highway 23 to Kandiyohi County Road 5 have been completed as of Sept. 13, 2023. Construction has begun on final ramp.
