Just because of all of this, Hoboken Police department has actually beefed up their traffic patrols by 20 additional officers just for this mornings commute. Theyre going to be guiding cars through the damage caused by this water main break. As you mentioned, its been quite a wet weekend. Not just in hoboken but on the border of jersey city as well, particularly the newport neighborhood. The water pressure has been restored to many portions of the area, but some high rises are still going to be experiencing lower than normal pressure this morning. Officials are telling us that a 16inch water main break that brings water to both hoboken and the newport area of jersey city was ruptured. Boil water advisories were put into effect and remain in effect in hoboken today. Theyre dealing with a major blow, however, to local businesses who also dealt with flooding.
