The City of Fairfield has announced during their meeting Tuesday that a bud was approved for the resurfacing work on Main and Delaware Streets. The city approved Howell Paving to resurface the roads. The price tag on the project is just over 7 Million Dollars. City officials say the work is scheduled to start in late April.

The Fairfield City Council met Tuesday evening, with newly appointed alderman Allen Marsh absent. The council unanimously approved a TIF Agreement with the Wayne County Fairgrounds in the amount of $27,500. The funds will be used to help pay for a major electrical project on the grounds that will result in parking spots for 63 campers. The TIF Committee had previously approved the expenditure. Board members also agreed to make two payments to Howell Paving of Mattoon for work on the Route 40 project. The two payments total just under $175,000.
