The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) on Monday ran a drill to test the capabilities of its new frigate HTMS Chang, which it aims to use it as a “floating fortress” in marine disaster mitigation, amphibious operations, and as a field hospital in an emergency situation.

A new Chinese-built LPD, HTMS Chang, arrived in Thailand in late April, having been collected by the Royal Thai Navy earlier that month.

BANGKOK (The Nation/Asia News Network): The Royal Thai Navy’s new frigate, HTMS Chang, docked at the Sattahip Naval Base in Chonburi on Tuesday (April 25) at 10.30am.
