A downtown park is getting a makeover.
Beatty Hughes Park, located between Kieth’s Alley and Corry Street, may someday host live music concerts, outdoor movies, family picnics and art exhibits.
Yellow Springs Village Manager Josué Salmerón laid out a $30,000 park renovation proposal at Village Council’s Feb. 16 regular meeting. The presentation was discussion only.

The park’s central location and proximity to both downtown and the bike path make it an important space for village life, Salmerón said. Yet it remains underused, he believes.
Snow and sleet are expected to remain steady across the region through the early afternoon on Thursday. A winter storm warning is in effect until 10 a.m. Friday.
