the first 100 days for results for american people. if it s clear that they don t want the choices and this is a winning ticket and we can win and not spoil, we are going to do it. if it looks for any reason like this will spoil it, we step down. we aren t cowboys, people who want to give the americans the choice. they will decide. dana: one of the accusations coming from the left is that your husband, mark penn, a long-time pollster and somebody who comes on our air and worked for bill clinton but does a lot of polling. the accusation is that you are doing his bidding. would you like to respond to that? oh my goodness, dana, listen, i have been in politics well over 30 years, right? my last assignment was senator evan bye for 15 years. he have resigned and got worn down by the hyper partisanship and dysfunction. i created this organization all by myself, right? it was my idea, i ve worked at
30 of them, but there were 149 republicans who voted yes for this bill. that s an overwhelming number, and then you add in the other 170 some democrats who voted for it, and you re seeing a bill pass the united states house of representatives with 300 votes. that s something that in the modern congress, in this age of hyper partisanship that we never see happen with a relatively controversial piece of legislation. so if anything, i think kevin mccarthy has proven his critics wrong. he s been able to marshal all of these different factions to get a very difficult piece of legislation to the united states senate and perhaps to the president s desk, and yes, even one member could say kevin mccarthy, we want to call your speakership into question, bring up a vote, and they ll go through that whole process again, but it will likely end up the same way that it did in january. because while these conservatives may not be happy with kevin mccarthy, they do not have an alternative speaker candi
jackie s point, you can t go peace meal to every municipality and state and throw a bit of money here and there. that is not immigration policy. this is actually one of the few areas where hyper-partisanship works against everybody. you have to work in concert with different agencies and organizations and different parties to come up with even a minute fix. we re not going to have comprehensive immigration reform, but you have to do something here because you have people in martha s vineyard complaining they have a couple of hundred migrants and then migrants and assume places like el paso, states of texas, arizona, california are going to absorb everybody, but even gavin newsom is one of the governor s complaining that the federal government isn t doing enough. harris: and it s broken. kennedy: yes. harris: i want to follow up on something jackie said with you, kennedy, because it is the numbers game that this democrat mayor here in new york city is playing right now with that
local newspapers have shut down since before the hand sanitizer. not only that, the number of newsroom jobs were cut in half between 2008 and 2019, local news deserts have left thousands of communities without a local paper that means fewer reporters covering local and state government. the lack of legitimate information adds to cynicism and suspension which demagogues take advantage of. politicians legitimizing their lies, leading up to the role that jones played riling up the crowd on january 6th. there s no accounting for enthusiastic dupes, people blinded by hyper partisanship or the rush of conspiracy theories. there is a sucker born every minute, but the stakes are higher now, political carnival barkers can have real power and the monetization of misinformation threatens democracy itself because it depends to a large extent on reasoning together and that s why we need to strengthen basic
americans want more political parties to choose from in future elections. hyper partisanship, hyper charged are some words that they are not happy about. jimmy failla host of fox across america on fox news radio. what is your take on that? first of all it makes me sad. if you get to know most people there are so many better reasons to hate them than their politics. it is just reality. i hate to take it there. but the reason we re in this position is social media. we have created an era of incentivized conflict. what i mean by that is social media rewards the most vicious takes on your opponents with the highest levels of digital light. if you get on social media and say i disagree with the democrats nobody cares. if you are like these republicans are white supremacists and you shoot dopamine up through your phone. that s a big problem and kublg that with the algorithms are feeding us information we the
