Ten years of reduced revenue streams have left the library board with no choice, according to a statement released Monday by the library board of trustees.

The Free Library of Philadelphia will revise its hours beginning Monday, Oct. 16 and plans to open Saturdays at all of its branches in the near future. Saturday hours will resume once the Free Library hires new staff to fill those hours. Starting Oct. 16, the Parkway Central Library will operate Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
