Rescuers are those who take great personal risk to help members of a persecuted group. During the Holocaust, in defiance of dangerous German government policies, these brave individuals helped Jews evade Nazi capture by hiding them in their home or on their property, providing false papers and identities, or smuggling and assisting Jews to escape.
