Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko will hold a conference call to discuss the harvest progress on 21 July.

The head of state asked about the state of affairs in Vitebsk Oblast in detail. “We will begin active harvesting in about 1.5 weeks. We have only 24 harvesters in disrepair for now. They will be commissioned by 24 July,” Vitebsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Subbotin said.

According to Igor Brylo, about 7,500 harvesters will be used in the course of the harvesting campaign. The overall readiness of the vehicles stands at 99%, however, the figure varies from region to region. For instance, it stands at 98% in Vitebsk Oblast although it was 81% a year ago as of the same reporting date.

The Minsk City Executive Committee will allocate Br100 million for building new cattle complexes this year. “At present the completion rate of all the 20 facilities exceeds 50%, which means that the allocated funds will be sufficient,” Vladimir Kukharev noted.

Igor Brylo noted: “Borisov Bread Products Company could have built a more expensive complex but they came up with the optimal variant that we are going to adopt across the entire country. It is the cheapest variant with the newest equipment. One cattle stall here costs slightly more than Br10,000.”

During his working trip to Orsha District Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was told that a small shortage of grain that is expected this year due to adverse weather conditions will be compensated by imports from Russia, BelTA has learned.

The task for the domestic agricultural sector is to replace farms with technologically advanced dairy complexes in a five-year period, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited the Pavlinka robotic dairy complex of the Yubileiny agricultural company in Orsha District, BelTA has learned.

The program to develop a uniform agricultural policy gives a fresh impetus to cooperation between Belarus and Russia, Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo said at the plenary session of the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Ufa, BelTA has learned.
