The Belarusian strongman, 69, said we must be prepared as much as possible to neutralise risks and threats as he spoke at a meeting with senior officials in the countrys capital, Minsk.

Igor Lednik was arrested in 2022 and sentenced to three years in prison for defamation of the Belarusian president. The human rights NGO Viasna confirmed his death.

Meanwhile, in Belarus political prisoners are also dying.
