The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has initiated the construction of new bus queue shelters at various locations across the city. Mayor Mrigen Sarania announced the foundation for these shelters at Ananda Nagar and Sixth Mile on GS Road, with a six-month deadline for completion. The shelters will be installed in 45 locations based on need and condition. Modern facilities and amenities will be included in these aluminium bus shelters.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a penalty of Rs12.75 lakh on five cooperative banks, including three from Gujarat and one each from Telangana and Tamil Nadu, for non-compliance with the directions issued by the banking regulator.
