climate related jobs. more than anything i m actually feeling move until this moment. you do. you ll look out on the floor of lawmakers an think oh know. we have to wait for them to agree on something we are doomed. we are building a movement that will make something like a political inevident blt in this country. in an age of bitter division they are calling for trillions in new spending. and a kind of national union, ironic since canaveral s launch pads are currently being fortified caused by climate change. ten years ago president obama threw about $90 billion into sort of a mini-green new deal. republicans like to point out the solar company that went belly up as a result.
beginning? you ve just got a new addition, new segment on hillary clinton. some people said she s winning but it doesn t feel like she s winning. how do you assess that statement? i don t think they want her to feel like she s winning. her campaign wants her to feel like it s an actual race and she s earning their votes and it s not inevident blt. for them, i don t think it s a bad thing he s get steam. i think it s bad if they lose iowa and new hampshire put a contest is a good thing and it excites the democrats. if you look at polls hillary is still very poplar. it s not an anti establishment thing. it s a debate they re having. do you think hillary clinton is exposing herself? i watch a lot, i understand why they do this.
i m back! [ cheers and applause ] reporter: a new version of hillary clinton when she hits the campaign trail. less of this thank you so much. reporter: and particular of this. looking forward to coming and having a conversation with a few people. reporter: the campaign s expected new strategy places clinton is smaller, intimate settings, to highlight her softer side and avoid perception of inevident blt that dogged her and led to defeat in 2008. good to see you. reporter: central to the new pitch, a focus on hillary clinton, the person. aiming to reintroduce herself not as a former first lady, not as a former senator or secretary of state, but as a grandmother. i have to say i m still kind of in the grandmother glow six months in. it s better than any spa treatment. i highly recommend it, and i suppose it s only fair to say
this issue in question for inevident blt comes up right, and, you know, not directly criticizing clinton, but saying it s inevitable until it s not? reporter: that s right. that was an interesting statement last night. there s awareness in the campaign about this issue of inef blt. it keeping coming up, and maybe one of the reasons for the low key roll out for the campaign and then get back out on the trail. she wants to show she s taking nothing for granted this time, but the issue continues to dog her. as you said, one of the potential contenders in the primary, democratic governor of maryland, former governor of maryland, martin o malley in iowa last night. this is what he told reporters. history s full of examples where the front runner was inevitable until he or she was
good supreme court on gay marriage? gay marriage is going to happen, chris. i think it s almost an inevident blt. not only when you look at poll results you put up on the screen, but when you talk to young people. it s almost a no brainer. universal acceptance on college campuses. i think what you heard from justice kennedy was trying to determine or trying to create a path where he will allow the states to be opportunities for experimentation. but ultimately i think the public and the constitution will demand it. and i think this is a difficult time. what i would want as a gay person is full rights. i mean, the notion as i think justice ginsberg referred to it as skim milk, we don t want a less than marriage. i mean, when you re born, you get a birth certificate. when i die, i ll get a death certificate. i don t want the state to impart a less than status in a union between two persons. you know, it s so amazing, governor. we re just learning this stuff.
