The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the plea of journalist Rana Ayyub challenging the summons issued to her by a special PMLA court in Ghaziabad in a money laundering case lodged against her by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Ayyub was summoned by a trial court in Ghaziabad in relation to a prosecution complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its order on the plea of journalist Rana Ayyub challenging the summons issued to her by a special PMLA court in Ghaziabad in a money laundering case lodged against her by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered a special court in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad to defer the hearing in the money laundering case against journalist Rana Ayyub to any day after January 31.

The Ghaziabad court had summoned Ayub and asked her to appear before it on January 27.

The apex court said it would hear on January 31 the petition of the journalist challenging the Enforcement Directorate summons issued to her by the special court

The Supreme Court asked a special court in Ghaziabad, which has summoned journalist Rana Ayyub in a money laundering case lodged by the Enforcement Directorate, to adjourn the proceedings scheduled for January 27 to a date after January 31.

The Supreme Court on Monday said that it will hear on January 25 the plea by journalist Rana Ayyub against an order of a Ghaziabad court which has summoned her on January 27 in relation to a PMLA case.

In her writ petition, Ayyub has sought quashing of the proceedings initiated by the ED in Ghaziabad citing lack of jurisdiction
