SOUTHERN INDIANA — The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning to add electric vehicle charging stations across the state, including several in Southern Indiana.

With this approval, all states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia now have access to all NEVI formula funding.

President Biden has set a goal for half of all new vehicles sold in 2030 to be zero-emissions vehicles.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was in the Triangle Tuesday singing the praises of the Biden Administration’s Inflation Reduction Act which promises to reduce consumer energy costs and cut greenhouse emissions.

The plan will help the stat install EV chargers along interstates.

The plan was submitted to the U.S. Joint Office of Energy and Transportation in late July and has now been approved, securing federal National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) formula program
