you can pay for this one or this one but if you want both of them, which is the same thing you were getting before, it just costs more money. they lost a lot of customers. where i m finding a big difference is on-line papers. new york times, wall street journal, i ll log on and see an article and then i ll go to read the entire thing, nope. or i ll go to print it if i can get access to the entire thing. nope. you re trying to get it for free. you re used to get it for free. exactly. now i have to pay. that said, you would think that the advertisements, you would think all the pams of advertisements, that s not cutting it for them? it s not. the new york times, for instance x is barely making a profit. what went on for a while is the old business, the legacy business, the print side subsidized the on-line side. it was all that revenue from one side covered the costs on the other. that business model is not there anymore. these companies are saying, look, this is what we do.
