A frontal system will develop over the Southern plains on Sunday and moves eastward towards the Lower Mississippi Valley into Monday. This front will spark showers and storms across the region as the surface low moves northeast. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed an Enhanced Risk (3/5) over portions of Northern Louisiana and Southwest Mississippi and a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather over areas of Eastern Texas, Southern Arkansas, and most of Louisiana and Mississippi.

Lots of sunshine to end the weekend. Clouds start to build in on Monday, with some much-needed rain Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cooler and dry today as a cold front crosses the area. Temperatures will still be a few degrees warmer than normal. Expect highs in the mid 60s.

More clouds today with highs in the low 60s. We'll see more sunshine break out on Thursday with highs in the mid and upper 60s.

Even colder this morning! Many areas are waking up in the 30s! A few clouds will build in this afternoon with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s once again.

A chilly start to kick off the work week. Many areas are starting out in the 30s and low 40s. Temperatures will warm to the upper 50s to near 60 during the afternoon.

40/29 Chief Meteorologist Darby Bybee says clear, cool nights are ahead, each followed by a mild, sunny afternoon.

More sunshine will break out across Virginia as the day progresses. North Carolina will still have to deal with some clouds and even a few showers.
