Article content The New Espanola & District Snowmobile Club has been doing a lot of work on the approximately 242 kilometres of trail in their riding area. According to their Facebook page they have used a rental excavator to fix culverts, swamp holes, remove fallen trees and clear brush, level rocky hills, and do general repairs to the trails. OPP say excessive speed, driving too fast for the conditions and alcohol and drugs are top contributing factors in snowmobile deaths. SHARE ON: The Ontario Federation of Snowmobiling Clubs (OFSC) says they will comply with the local health unit’s temporary trail closure order. According to a memo sent two days after the order was given, the OFSC received permission from the health unit to proceed with limited grooming operations so when trails in the districts re-open they are ready to ride.
