TRAVERSE CITY — As construction looms for a selective fish passageway and replacement dam in Traverse City, pieces of the project’s bigger financial puzzle are coming into place.

Twenty-two dams in Michigan will receive funding for upgrades through the Dam Risk Reduction Grant Program.

Among the cities on the list is Allegan, which received $1.8 million to remove and replace the stop logs in the spillway.
