An odds-on great day at the Mornington Cup
CITY racing comes to the Mornington Peninsula for Neds Mornington Cup Day this Saturday 20 March.
It is one of the most stunning days trackside you’ll ever experience on the Peninsula. From the rolling front lawn, to the deck with Winning Post views or three-course dining, there is a space and an experience for everyone.
For a relaxed day on the lawn, set yourself up trackside with the Squealing Pig Spritz Bar dedicated to keeping you hydrated across the day and an array of food trucks with a selection of snacks and meals to keep your hunger pangs at bay. There’s a DJ playing music between races, ample shade and a big screen to witness all the racing action unfold. Bring your picnic blanket and the family and enjoy a day out with us.

BRETT SCOTT KICKED, AIRLIFTED TO ALFRED
March 3, 2021 6:47 pm
By Matt Stewart, Racing Editor
Mornington trainer Brett Scott was this afternoon airlifted to the Alfred Hospital following a stable incident.
It is believed Scott was kicked by a horse late this afternoon, possibly on a walker at his Mornington stables.
Scott’s wife Kylie and their children were being driven to the Alfred this evening.
Kylie said her husband had been kicked and put in an induced coma.
“That’s all we know at the moment,” she said.
Trainer Pat Carey confirmed Scott had been airlifted but was unsure of the extent of Scott’s injuries.

We have a ripper meeting at Flemington today, highlighted by the Group 1 Black Caviar Lighting down the straight.
There’s a fairly solid support card with Group 3 races the CS Hayes and Vanity, plus the Listed Talindert.
We were set to have a solid crowd at headquarters but a snap five-day lockdown in Victoria has forced the races behind closed doors.
Nonetheless, we ve put forward some selections for a Good 4 track with a forecast of 21 degrees and a shower or two.

Tricky way to start the day.

The Mounting Yard returns this week after a three-month hiatus and I couldn’t pick a better program with which to kick off 2020: the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes Day at Flemington.
The track should be between a Good 4 and Soft 5 with the weather predicted, and Flemington generally plays fairly, so tempo should dictate whether they can run or not.
Let’s get into it!
