On Tuesday, Ohio voters decisively rejected a proposal to make amending its state constitution harder. Issue 1 sought to require a 60% threshold for changing Ohio’s constitution rather than the current rules mandating only a majority vote.

On Nov. 7, Ohioans will be asked to vote on an amendment to their state constitution that would enshrine a “right” to abortion into it. 

Anti-abortion groups expressed their disappointment over the Issue 1 loss, but pushed forth with plans to campaign against what they see as an apocalyptic change to the state constitution.
