Tonight will have mostly clear skies and overnight lows ranging from 19 in Grand Marais to the single digits along the Iron Range and northward. We could see a few areas north drop to around zero.

The highest snowfall amounts will be 3-4 inches in northern St. Louis County stretching into Lake and Cook Counties.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with overnight lows in the teens. Saturday morning’s wind chills will be in the single digits for areas stretching from Duluth to Lake of the Woods.

Rain is likely tonight, continuing into Saturday morning. A cold front will bring the chance of a stray shower Saturday afternoon.

Severe thunderstorms are possible beginning in northwest Minnesota Friday evening and tracking east Friday night. Potential for large hail and damaging winds increases looking west across the Northland. Heavy rain and flash flooding is a widespread concern.
