A one-vehicle accident late Friday afternoon in Izard County resulted in the death of a Sharp County man. According to the Arkansas State Police, 57-year-old Michael Moore of Evening Shade was pronounced dead at the time of the first responders’ arrival to the scene in Zion. Izard County’s baseball team wrapped up the Pioneer Classic at Batesville Saturday with a third-place finish in its Big School Division. After falling to the host Pioneers earlier in the day, the Cougars bounced back and doubled up Gosnell 6-3. Denton Reilley picked up the win by pitching a complete game and giving up four hits.
