The Virginia Cavaliers wrapped a 4th consecutive NCAA title in women's swimming & diving on Saturday, just the third program in history to do so.

Intertwined in the fabric of swimming has been the growth of assistant coaches into highly successful head coaches at various levels.

Georgia junior Abby McCulloh clocked a winning time of 9:30.61 in the 1000 free that knocked more than five seconds off her lifetime best in the event.

Georgia senior Jake Magahey swept the 500 free (4:23.15) and 1000 free (9:12.87) while also claiming the 200 fly title in an NCAA ‘B’ cut of 1:45.73.

The NCAA coaches assume the same roles they held at the 2022 World Championships, with DeSorbo leading the women's team in Paris and Nesty guiding the men.

Kyler Heffner doesn't possess SEC scoring times just yet, but his best 500 free time (4:24.22) is only about four seconds outside of B-final range (4:19.25).

Mary Descenza Mohler (pictured right) broke the 200 fly world record (2:04.14) at the 2009 World Championships in Rome, Italy.

While they'll be without Luca Urlando once again, the return of key fifth years, and a couple incoming freshmen, should prove crucial for UGA this season.

Jerry Champer (above) spent last season as Georgia's Director of Operations, but is returning to the pool deck next year, a place he resided for two decades.

When most people look into the bottom of a pool, they see a reflection of themselves staring back at them.
