The North West Morris tradition in the North West originated in Lancashire and north Cheshire’s small industrial towns in the 19th century, with dances often accompanying local events and carnivals or performed during Wakes Weeks when the local mills were closed. One of the most recognisable facets of English culture, it’s still alive to this day.
