With the turn of the calendar, we find ourselves on the brink of a brand new lacrosse season. The grind never stops, obviously, but now all that work comes to fruition. And it also means I get to drop another season preview. This is probably the most intriguing season in a while, due to the many, many changes that we have seen in the past 12 months. First of all, there was actually a team fall practice session, instead of pods of individuals doing drills. So the scheme could be refined, there co...

Michigan has never lost a Big Ten Tournament game. With their first-ever conference tournament appearance, the Wolverines picked up their third win of the season via a 15-11 victory over Ohio State in the Big Ten Quarterfinals on Saturday. With every Big Ten team qualifying for the conference tournament this season, Michigan got their first chance to make some noise and did just that. “It’s really exciting because it gave us an opportunity to compete and play our way into the final fo...

New year, new look, another W. Ohio State came out in what I am dubbing the "Black Death" unis, and completely stifled the revamped Johns Hopkins Blue Jays, 14-8. Two years after their last meeting, Ohio State started strong and never let up, cruising to an easy away victory at once mighty Homewood Field. And, despite the massive W, theres not a lot to rest easy on with (edit: Rutgers) up next. For this afternoon, however, the big names came through in big spots. Tre Leclaire fired in 4 goals o...

Monday February 8th, 2021 8:30am We rejoice in the return to play. The healing characteristics of lacrosse — the physical and mental health benefits for the participants, coaches, families and fans.  2021 will be a week-to-week endeavor. Expect stops and starts, a bumpy road, unpredictable and imperfect. Celebrate your negative tests. Weve seen at least three programs (UMass, Johns Hopkins and Michigan) affected because of campus spreads of the virus. Set a good example. Be the great citizen...

I know, I said that I would do a B1G preview first, but we all need something to look forward to after what happened last night. So, here we go. First up, is there going to be a season? No one knows. The Patriot League is optimistic, having dropped their spring schedule on Friday, though many are in New York which is currently a dumpster fire for scholastic athletics. Syracuse is delaying the semester until February 8, the Ivy League has always been the quickest D1 conference to cancel sports...

First off, happy Christmas Eve to all 11 Dubbers! Since it has been a while, I had the itch to post some lacrosse content. So, here we go. The story of transfers and how programs approach them, especially these days, is fascinating. Theres a good deal of thought that transfers must be damaged goods, as generally a player is leaving a pretty good situation (academically and athletically) for reasons that are generally selfish. Please note, I am not saying that perception is true, just that this...
