Jack Eicheltrade News Today

No team has more cap space than the Sabres do this season, so if they’re in the playoff hunt in a few months and have room in the salary budget, they’re well-positioned to try to add.

The Sabres are well-positioned to take on money to add assets at the deadline if they so desire.

The Flames have Matthew Tkachuk, an upcoming first-round selection, a player who was a first-round pick and two prospects on the table.

If there is a trade in the near future, Eichel still faces a major neck surgery that will keep him out of the NHL for several months.
