BULLARD – Texas military veterans and patriots viewed classic military vehicles, met Congressional Medal of Honor recipients and celebrated American values during the annual Texas Veterans Military Show on Saturday.

Seven Medal of Honor recipients, three World War II veterans and the son of a famed military medic will be honored during a September military festival in Smith County.

Waving little flags and playing with their plastic patriotic pinwheels, the young crowd of Stepping Stone School eagerly waited to march in the annual patriotic parade on Monday.

Dr. Jack Hetzel, A 99-year-old Pastor And World War II Veteran From Big Sandy, Texas, Fulfilled His Lifelong Dream Of Graduating High School. Despite Not Having The Chance To Complete His Education When He Was Younger, Hetzel Obtained His High School Diploma In The Spring Of 2021.

The sound of bagpipes echoed Monday morning throughout the Tyler Memorial Cemetery, as East Texans paused to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
