The vote agrees to a request to abate $86 million in taxes on construction for 25 years and levy two sales taxes in the village to help fund construction costs.

The project comes with a price tag close to $985 million dollars for the Olia Village at Bayer's former North American headquarters.

The $985 million project, called Olia Village, calls for apartments, townhouses, retail, hotels and offices on 96 acres at 10300 Olive Boulevard, part of what was Bayer’s North American headquarters.

The City Council approved a concept plan to build apartments, 130 townhomes, retail space, hotels, office buildings and other commercial space.

Mayor Bob Hoffman also said the city would review "every building" proposed for the village before theyre built and that residents would be notified immediately to provide their input each

The project, Olia Village, will feature apartments, townhomes, retail, hotels and other commercial space. Creve Coeur officials will review the project on Sept. 5.

Edwardsville-based private equity firm Fireside Financial bought 95 acres of property in September from Bayer.
