On June 2, 2022, the U.S. Institute of Peace together with the VII Foundation will open “Imagine: Reflections on Peace,” a multimedia exhibit that explores the themes and challenges of peacebuilding through an immersive look at societies that suffered — and survived — violent conflict.

The news of the film’s distribution is very welcome, but it in no way diminishes the foul attempt by MGM and the Hollywood establishment generally to “bury” Minamata, along with its star, Johnny Depp.

“An actor’s personal life is one thing but the film is something different. Why should someone’s personal life be used to censor Minamata?”
