Strain will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being found guilty of sexually assaulting young boys.

A former sheriff convicted last year of rape and other sex crimes will spend the rest of his life in prison without the chance of parole. 

Jack Strain received his sentence on Tuesday after he was convicted on charges of rape, aggravated incest, sexual battery and indecent behavior.

Former longtime St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain faces a mandatory life sentence for the charges he was convicted of last year.

"It was a long time coming," Terry King said. He is on the investigation team with the group, Concerned Citizens of St. Tammany.

Once the highest ranking law enforcement official in St. Tammany Parish, Strain entered the plea clad in an orange jumpsuit.

Jack Strain's attorney has confirmed he will plead guilty to federal charges in a bribery and kickback scheme involving a work release program.

The fifth accuser, another relative of Strain’s said he came forward after seeing Mark Finn accuse Strain of rape on WWL-TV in 2019.
