The Yankton school board has passed a four-year renewal of the district’s $1.85 million annual opt-out, allowing the district to raise up to that amount above the state property-tax limit.

With electric bids higher than expected, the Yankton School Board has amended the Trailhead Learning Center’s guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for construction by $482,065, to around $28.4 million.

The Yankton School Board will reorganize for the 2023-2024 school year and conduct the school district budget hearing when the board meets at 5 p.m. Monday.
