Mayors of demerged West Island cities say they have had enough of Montreal treating them like one of their boroughs and leaving them out of the decision-making process for plans

But building this new structure has once again brought into focus an ongoing problem: traffic congestion when drivers enter the Island of Montreal from Île-Bizard.

The time it takes to cross a bridge in Ile-Bizard has jumped from a few minutes to an hour because of a construction project that’s left residents frustrated.
