The Department confirmed that on 4 November 2022, it criminally charged the mining company - Jagersfontein Developments Pty (Ltd).

Exactly a year after the Jagersfontein mudslide disaster, little has changed for the southern Free State community which says it has been forgotten.

To date, according to residents, only three incomplete houses have been built by Jagersfontein Developments Mine.
