Brunswick police want to buy a new BearCat truck designed for law enforcement to replace its 1979 Peacekeeper vehicle, which was donated by the military.

Abby King was elected chairperson of the Brunswick Town Council and four members elected in November were sworn in Tuesday.

Brunswick Town Councilors James Mason and Kathy Wilson didn't seek reelection, while Councilor Dan Ankeles resigned to focus on his work as a state representative.

Brunswick voters on Tuesday also joined a majority of Mainers in voting against Pine Tree Power, a publicly owned electric utility that would have replaced Central Maine Power and Versant.

The Brunswick election Nov. 7 features a three-way race for a Town Council seat.

Chris Teel, Nathan MacDonald and Camden Reiss are running for an at-large seat on the Brunswick Town Council. It's the only contested race on the Brunswick ballot Nov. 7.
