David Hall Dixon was off-duty in Maryland when he fired his weapon at two individuals he assumed were attempting to steal a car. He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of murder on Friday. According to Montgomery County State’s Attorney
John McCarthy, he is being held without bond.
The incident took place at 5 a.m. on Wednesday. The officer thought he witnessed individuals stealing a car in a condominium complex. As the individuals drove off, he shot after them. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Dixon, who identified himself as a Pentagon officer and a complex resident.

(WASHINGTON) The Pentagon police officer charged with murder for allegedly killing two people in Maryland this week also pulled a shotgun on a homeless woman in his apartment lobby last year, police said.
David Hall Dixon, a Pentagon Force Protection Agency officer, was charged with second-degree murder in the deaths of Dominique Williams, 32, and James Lionel Johnson, 38, in Takoma Park, police said Friday.
He was off-duty at the time of the shooting, which took place shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday, in the parking lot of the Takoma Overlook Condominiums, according to police.

A Pentagon police officer who tried to stop a car robbery has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in relation to the deaths of two people in Maryland earlier this week, police said.
The Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) officer, identified as David Hall Dixon of Takoma, was off-duty at the time of the incident and was on his way to work, Takoma Park Police Department Chief Antonio DeVaul confirmed during a press briefing on Friday.
Dixon was taken into custody early on Friday after police obtained an arrest warrant charging him with second-degree murder and the use of a handgun in a commission of a felony, according to a police statement.
