For the El Paso County Water Improvement District No. 1, the 2023 water season initial water allotment for irrigable land will start Wednesday.

Officials said the water from Elephant Butte Dam began to flow from Caballo Lake at 6 a.m. Friday ‒ almost two weeks earlier than last year.
