SKM Mahapanchayat: Long queue of vehicles was seen at the Ghazipur border as each one was being checked by the police.

All vehicles entering the capital are being checked and police personnel are on the alert mode

In a tweet, Delhi Police has asked motorists to avoid Tolstoy Marg, Sansad Marg, Janpath Road, Ashoka Road, Outer Circle Connaught Place, Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Pandit Pant Marg due to farmers congregation.

Movement of vehicles at the Singhu Border also remained slow due to additional pickets deployed there in view of the congregation

As thousands of farmers reached Jantar Mantar to attend a mahapanchayat, massive traffic jams were witnessed on Monday at Delhi border including Ghazipur and Singhu, with some of the commuters getting stuck for more than an hour amid curbs put in place by the police, officials said.

Delhi Police issued an advisory saying the traffic movement would be affected in parts of Lutyens’ Delhi on Friday as the Congress is all set to stage a mass protest against price rise, unemployment and GST hike.
