The choice to believe in God’s existence is the beginning of choices, not the end. What God do I choose to believe in? What sort of God makes sense in the context of the world I experience daily?
The problem of evil becomes more than an academic or classroom exercise, particularly for persons of traditional Christian faith, as thousands of innocent people die in the Israel/Hamas conflict and as eighteen innocent people were murdered by a shooter in Lewiston, Maine in recent weeks.
I consider myself to be well informed and well read, but every once in a while I read or hear something so new that I have to say, “I’ve never thought about that before!’ followed quickly by “This is really important. Why haven’t I ever thought about this before?"
