WYOMING COUNTY, N.Y. - On Thursday, 30-year-old Jared Wrazen of Java, in Wyoming County, was sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by five years of additional post release supervision.      On May 16, 2022 Wrazen shot a pregnant woman in the stomach. She survived but lost the baby. A 4-year-old was also present during the shooting. Wrazen's mother was also charged for failing to keep her gun, which wasn't on her permit license, away from him.

The Wyoming County District Attorney's Office announced Friday that 30-year-old Jared Wrazen was sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by five years post-release supervision.

The sentence stems from an incident on May 16, 2022.

Deputies say a 29-year-old woman had been shot in the abdomen and was taken to ECMC by Mercy Flight. Her current condition is unknown at this time.

A man has been arrested for the shooting of a woman on Monday in Wyoming County, in what investigators said was a domestic violence incident.  

Jared Wrazen is charged with assault, child endangerment, and a weapon charge.
