“While the impact was significant and literally catastrophic for some industries, technology is at the heart of the recovery, and we believe it offers many opportunities for all of us to move forward,” Kimrey, CEO of Intel’s US Channel and Partner Programs , said Wednesday at the event.
To underscore the impact of the pandemic, Kimrey cited internal data collected from the chip maker’s channel partners, which found that 56 percent of them saw a decline in sales in the second quarter of 2020.
“For those of you who serve the public sector, financial services or banking, the consequences of COVID were actually not that bad. In fact, some of your business has grown, ”he said. “However, if you were closely associated with segments such as retail, and travel and hospitality – or manufacturing – these were clearly the sectors that were affected.”
