Dan Holman, a teacher at Maranacook Community Middle School, said at a school board meeting Wednesday that members of the Regional School Unit 38 board have not been given the results of a union-sponsored survey conducted earlier this year that are critical of the district's administration.

The RSU 38 board of directors voted Wednesday to approve a budget that raises school taxes on average 8.24% throughout the district, which includes Manchester, Mount Vernon, Wayne and Readfield.

The proposed budget for Regional School Unit 38 represents a 5.7% increase to the current budget, and an average 8.24% increase to property taxes in Manchester, Mount Vernon, Readfield and Wayne.
