Assam Tourism Minister, Jayanta Malla Baruah, has urged Delhi-based tour operators to promote the Indian state as a tourist destination. Around 25 tour operators, travel agents, and travel journals attended the meeting to prepare packages to promote Assam, which Baruah said has seen an increase of 573% in domestic tourists and 783% in foreign visitors.
