Tube Investments of Indias subsidiary, TI Clean Mobility, plans to enter the electric small commercial vehicle (eSCV) category. TI Clean Mobility will establish a new subsidiary business, in which it will own 80%, to commercialize eSCVs. The company has also signed agreements to acquire a 50% ownership in Jayem Auto, strengthening its R&D and product development capabilities.

For a long time it didnt seem necessary as i could make do with Uber/Ola/Auto/Activa. Things changed towards the end of 2018 a car had gradually become more of a necessity.
