The Koregaon Bhima Commission has ordered to issue summons to heads of six political parties in the state saying that their presence will be helpful to suggest measures to avoid incidents of violence in future.

According to the plea for the order of summons, the inputs of the six leaders in question will be helpful in preventing incidents of violence, such as the Bhima Koregaon violence of 2018, from occurring in the future.

The NCP chief said that he wouldn't be in a position to attend the hearing on February 23 or 24.

The panel had earlier summoned Pawar in 2020 but he couldn't appear before it due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

As per the panel's counsel Ashish Satpute, the commission is going to commence it's proceedings from January 18 and will conduct the hearings in Pune.
