Willmar woman charged with seven counts of arson in downtown Willmar, commitment hearing scheduled

Linda Marie Wandersee-Callanan, 58, made her first appearance Wednesday in Kandiyohi County District Court on arson charges, after she allegedly attempted to burn the courthouse, other city and government offices and businesses on Sunday. A petition to commit her as mentally ill has also been filed.

One of two killed Saturday in west central Minnesota crash was driving pickup reported stolen minutes earlier

An 86-year-old Lake Lillian man and a 35-year-old man from Faribault, neither wearing a seat belt, died in a crash Saturday between Lake Lillian and Cosmos. The Faribault man was driving a vehicle reported stolen minutes earlier. An 83-year-old woman was flown to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis with life-threatening injuries.
