Willmar public works staff on Monday removed sidewalk panels and conducted exploratory digging in front of the building at 309 Benson Avenue Southwest to explore the cause of the stormwater issues at that location.
The Willmar City Council on Monday heard an update about a building on Benson Avenue in downtown Willmar that has been having issues with water coming into the building, which has now turned to mud coming into the building.
Questions emerged regarding possible contamination of the southwest well field due to assignment of a "moderate" vulnerability to surface water contamination. The short answer is "no" about contamination.
The commission will hear an update on the well field in the south Swansson Field Recreation Complex, as well as potential topics for a joint meeting between the city and Willmar Municipal Utilities.
