The Vancouver Park Board approved its operating budget for 2024, bringing with it increases to recreation fees and parking.

The District of West Vancouver has reopened the Ambleside Pier and Dundarave Pier after both were damaged in a January 2022 storm.

The pier has been closed to the public since last January, when a storm did significant damage to the pier, the Stanley Park seawall and the Kitsilano Pool. 

The Vancouver Park Board has voted to repair the 80-year-old pier at Jericho Beach, going against a staff recommendation to dismantle the structure.

The Vancouver Park Board has ordered a "like-for-like" repair of the Jericho Pier, rejecting a recommendation from staff to demolish the storm-damaged structure.

The pier has been closed to the public since last January, when a storm did significant damage to the pier, the Stanley Park seawall and the Kitsilano Pool. 

Staff with the Vancouver Park Board are recommending that the damaged Jericho Pier – which has been closed since 2021 -- be demolished instead of repaired or rebuilt.

Jericho Beach Park Pier has been closed since January 2022, when a storm surge caused significant damage to the pier's infrastructure.
