Nearly 50 years ago, a new suburban radio station brought attention to Des Plaines as the home of Request Radio. Even though WYEN 107 FM has long since disappeared, youll now find the significance of WYEN at the Des Plaines History Center.

More than a dozen community members attended the Hardin County Schools board meeting to discuss critical race theory. This included a news conference before the meeting by Hardin County Parents for Education, an organization recently founded by Michelle Smith.
